Abstract
A short essay on the Serbian painter Endre Penovac, one of the few Western artists to engage with East Asian ink painting. It discusses his lifelong focus on cats rendered in a few expressive lines, often emerging from an ensō circle, and reads his work as a meeting point of East and West.
