Abstract
An artist’s statement by the German painter René Böll on the two sources of his work: the European painting tradition and an understanding of creation shaped by Daoism and Chinese ink painting. He describes his materials and techniques, his yin-yang approach to colour, and landscapes painted from memory in the spirit of wuwei.
