Abstract
A short editorial statement setting out the magazine’s approach, modelled on the Chinese literati artist (wenren), who unites poet, painter, calligrapher and thinker and reinterprets tradition for their own time. It argues that this model suits contemporary society and environmental aesthetics, since humanity and nature are interdependent.
